From 7 to 10 April 2025 I was asked to come and teach with Rhona Duffy in Falkirk/Scotland. After the interview she did with me for her magazine (October 2023) I had inspired her with my story about the workshop I organized in my studio in the past with foreign teachers. So she wanted to invite me first. Again a start of a whole new kind of experience for me.
5 ladies came all the way from America and 3 ladies were from Scotland itself, these last 3 all made the puffin by the way, a very beloved bird in Scotland, hence the many hearts. Two ladies went for the most difficult work: the Scottish ‘Highland cow’ and the other 3 made a robin. I had indicated in my explanation beforehand that depending on their own temperament they could choose different options, but where they could still stay within the rules of the Roman style mosaic. Because sometimes this is realistic, but it can also be more cartoonish. And I must say that I am very happy with the diversity in the results. Suitable for each individual.
Big thanks to Rhona for inviting me and taking such good care of me. Thanks to all the participants too: Pam, Monica, Gail, Bridgeen, Jena, Jacky and Kate for the wonderful bonding time together. I enjoyed it very much and I think they did too.
