Pictor Imaginarius 2023 – Nazzano

From 22 to 28 May 2023, the annual Pictor Imaginarius competition was organized by the Museo del Fiume in Nazzano (located about 50 km from Rome). This was the 12th edition.

My work ‘A talk on the wild side’ was selected to participate and won 1st prize public and 3rd prize jury.

This is the explanation that is in the catalog.

The beauty of an everyday moment, cooling on a hot day, even if you have to bring your walking stick. A chat with an old friend, banal, endearing and therefore also beautiful. Going out in a bathing suit or bikini despite the signs of the years… the shark fin is a joke I added so it can put a smile on the viewer’s face. Life is bleak enough as it is.

I stayed in Nazzano itself for 3 days and then took a day trip to Rome. Nazzano is a beautiful, small, old, but very beautiful village, which is centered around a very old castle.
In the week leading up to the exhibition (which only lasts 1 weekend), mosaic artists from all over the world can come and participate in the creation of a large mosaic that they then place in the streets of Nazzano. As I said an annual event and everyone can participate. So if you feel it tickling, definitely do it next year!
