    • Africa Prosperity Project
Africa Prosperity Project stands behind the United Nations 2030 Agenda. We are devoted to answering its call to eradicate poverty in all its forms, with projects designed to heal & secure our planet, fostering equality, peace, & prosperity for all, in harmony with nature. Initially, we were drawn to Africa by the plight of the elephants, as their populations have been decimated by the ivory poaching crisis. We now recognize that the success of wildlife conservation, & the ability to halt wildlife extinction, hinges upon our ability to break the cycle of poverty. Conservation & desperation cannot coexist - it’s simply not possible. We now recognize that the only way to break the cycle of poverty is through a WHOLE SYSTEMS APPROACH to SDG implementation, designed to HEAL THE SYSTEM. This approach is COMMUNITY-BASED & PARTICIPATORY, with a strong focus on empowerment & sustainability, aimed to create growth & resiliency rather than dependency. It is also founded upon UNITY, calling all stakeholders to coordinate & cooperate. We believe that it’s time to change the status quo of conservation & development in Africa, so that’s what we’re setting out to do. Through our WHOLE SYSTEMS APPROACH, we recognize the nexus between all SDGs, that they operate as an interconnected system. We cannot successfully break the cycle of poverty, unless we (1) eradicate hunger, (2) develop new, sustainable economic opportunities, (3) increase access to quality medical care, education, & safe water, (4) reduce inequalities - gender, social, & racial - across all sectors, (5) reverse the effects of climate change, (6) conserve life on land & in the water, & overall, (7) ensure that economic, social, & technological progress occurs in HARMONY WITH NATURE. These goals are all inextricably linked & interconnected, &, as such, each goal must be addressed within each community to set a strong foundation for equality, peace, & prosperity. Through our COMMUNITY-BASED APPROACH, we: (1) target assistance to the most vulnerable & poor communities, (2) located in proximity to threatened wildlife populations & ecosystems, (3) establish a community liaison & local support, (4) initiate a dialogue with a diverse group of community members to foster a participatory approach, including the local government authority, (5) assess the community’s resources, (6) identify the community’s greatest needs, (7) set goals for development based on a whole systems design for SDG implementation, (8) centered around unity, collaboration, cooperation, & coordination amongst all stakeholders, (9) to implement community-driven solutions that foster empowerment, growth, equality, sustainability, & resiliency, (10) setting solid foundations for peace & prosperity. Through our PARTICIPATORY APPROACH, we recognize that all sustainable development should be the result of public participation, promoting social & gender equality, giving a voice to all stakeholders to co-create solutions together. Through our UNITED APPROACH, we are calling for unity & stand behind the goals of SDG 17. We recognize that collaboration, cooperation, & strategic partnerships are critical to the success of the 2030 Agenda. We aim to foster unity amongst all stakeholders, so that we, as a global community, can effectively & efficiently manage all available resources, to shift our planet onto a sustainable & resilient path. Through coordinated & strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships, we can address & rectify a wide variety of critical issues facing each community, creating the synergy necessary to break the cycle of poverty. At Africa Prosperity Project, we are determined to contribute to the success of the UN 2030 Agenda, & we are determined to mobilize the means necessary to: (1) build sustainable & resilient communities, (2) to effectively break the cycle of poverty, (3) & halt wildlife extinction, (4) with determination to motivate all stakeholders, at the local, regional, & global levels, to actively participate in a “united” & strategic advancement of the SDGs, (5) to shift African communities onto a sustainable & resilient path. We envision a world where the people & animals of Africa are living together harmoniously - healthy, thriving, peaceful, & prosperous. Join our journey on FB & IG: @africaprosperityproject - “Uniting to create sustainable communities in Africa, for equality, peace, & prosperity, in harmony with nature.”

    • Association for the Tree of Life
The global warming emergency is the most critical moral issue of our time. The Association for the Tree of Life (ATL) is working on effective responses that meet the scope, scale, and urgency of the crisis. ATL is a lead organization calling for and catalyzing the broad-based media, educational, and grassroots campaigns resulting in Emergency Climate and Ecological Mobilization that produces zero US carbon emissions within a decade. Our team has a track record of delivering results on a national grassroots movement and national legislation, for the largest ecological restoration in US history. The infrastructure for that particular movement still remains and can be activated. We have grassroots partners ready to engage their citizen networks through massive outreach. We have committed partners involved in the integration of climate ethics into faith denominations at the national level. We have thousands of partner venues throughout the US ready to host the essential climate education and conversation now. We have science communication partners ready to utilize the best available educational resources on climate change. Finally, we are working with the most acclaimed scientists and energy experts in the world to clearly explain what is at stake and what we must do to address the crisis. ATL is an independent, nonpartisan 501c3 nonprofit organization.

    • Balanced world
I am a self employed Pilates instructor working in my community with people everyday. I have discovered that many people I work with are not just trying to improve their own health or physical and mental well-being, they are sharing ideas about their lives, families, communities and the world. I believe these are people who share my values about the future and the world we live in. Rather than be an associate member I feel that creating a node via my business creates a "more heads are better than one" contribution. We believe in sharing!

    • Biospheric Literacy 101
Literacy has traditionally been thought to exhibit the most fundamental skills involving the ability to read and write, use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and carry out at least the most basic mathematical skills. This moment in history REQUIRES something further and even more fundamental: BIOSPHERIC LITERACY One-O-One. Ask yourself the following question: What should EVERY student, educator, first-year undergraduate, policymaker, journalist, and citizen KNOW about our planet? (And notice how quickly a list of ten or twenty or 50 core principles, data sets, and core understandings begins to almost automatically assemble itself.) Below are several quick highest-priority initial examples: (a) A graph of worldwide human population growth over the 10,000 years of civilization is an extreme and quite pronounced J-curve. We should talk about the two famous J-curves (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) that brought a sudden end to World War II. (As bad as those two J-curves were, they were at least relatively local in scale, while our own demographic J-curve is going off on a global scale in the middle of the ONLY planetary life-support machinery so far known to exist anywhere in the universe.) (b) Earth's razor-thin surface films of atmosphere, oceans, soils, and seas both house (and comprise) the ONLY such life-support machinery so far known to exist anywhere in the universe. Examples of ecological services that we take for granted (such as phytoplankton producing sizable proportions of the oxygen we inhale every few seconds). (c) Other topics this node hopes to address: How and why do population explosions occur? What is ecological release? How and why do massive population die-offs quite often occur in seemingly "vast open-space" surroundings that visually appear to remain mostly "empty?"

    • Chicken Little…….Tribe
The disaster to Puerto Rico due to the storms is an opportunity to try out the best living-on-less that we know of. No group in this country has been able to demonstrate living on far less fossil fuel use than we do now, and won’t be able to while the current system still works. The leaner life won’t happen until an adequate supply of fuel energy runs out or the supply system is disabled, which has happened in Puerto Rico. This provides an opportunity to show worried people what life could be like, and to rebuild “better”. Part of the efforts would be family planning; along with energy our numbers will be reducing.

    • Climate Emergency Coalition
Climate Emergency Coalition (CEC) is a lead organization creating the national conversation on the emerging climate emergency to result in a declaration of Global Warming State of Emergency and an Emergency Climate Mobilization. The Climate Emergency Coalition furthers the public conversation so the need for mobilization is quickly perceived; additionally, it creates a pathway for organizations to shift their missions to mobilization. Critically, the CEC provides coordination, talking points, and curriculum for groups who understand that only an emergency mobilization can suffice. The CEC seeks to dramatically expand the size and urgency of the existing Climate Movement, while focusing its efforts on Net Zero US Emissions within a decade.

    • Climate Matters
We produce short video media in the form a dual purpose press conference and TV program, recorded at the annual meetings of the UNFCCC climate negotiations. The programs attempt to educate global citizens on the lesser known aspects of climate change, but they deal with more than just climate issues. Anthropogenic threats to the biosphere are fair game, as is the ultimate root cause of these problems, a severely defective global operating system, growth economics and the Meme of Money.

    • Climate, Mind, and Behavior
The Garrison Institute’s Climate, Mind and Behavior (CMB) program explores the human dimensions of climate change with the intention of developing and enhancing activities that reduce green house gas (GHG) emissions while promoting individual and community resilience. CMB seeks to develop human resilience to the negative impacts of climate change, especially for those living in the most climate vulnerable communities. At the program's heart is the understanding that contemplative wisdom and practices have a powerful positive impact on environmental thinking and behavior. Contemplative practices also build personal resilience in the face of climate crises.

    • Compelling Vision of the Future
What does the future we are working towards look like? Currently the differences in our ideas about what the future should look like get resolved with a horrible waste of time, resources, and lives. A synergy of sorts, one that would resolve all of these ideas about what future to want, is not happening yet. The challenge is to find an effective way of resolving of our differences about what our ideal future should be, one that would not be accompanied by waste of time, resources and lives. This space has been created to promote dicussion of what a compelling vision of the future looks like, and how it can be communicated effectively to become our common goal. Please share your thoughts freely.

Founded 2014.11.16 Fremont California | Motto "Better late than Never" Major, unstudied questions: Is apathy of "fence sitters" to exerting any effort toward learning about climate change/limits to growth related to mental process that causes ignoring signs of infirmity/cancer/illness of ones self? Are there more/many more ways to state the facts, but from many different angles, with different media formats (different style/types of graphs, video, art, song, etc) to perhaps begin to reach those who are obviously not getting the message? What is the best method to focusing all resources human/capital toward a common goal with maximum efficiency, how to get all voices on one team, how to harness/direct all willing/available resources with maximum efficiency every second of every day, how not to waste one second or one calorie of time/energy from this second forward? What is feasability/risk/reward of creating alliance/line of communication with Pentagon so as to educate/create federal pressure to begin the required steps of mitigation? What is feasibility/risks/rewards of starting political party?

We are a grassroots residents' group protecting our community from oil and gas industry 1350 new leases in Sandoval County in the upper Albuquerque Basin, which gives the industry with a foothold into the Rio Grande Valley. Our group is proposing a carbon neutral impact fee on source emissions with a 100% dividend back to households with incomes under $75,000 a year. Currently, with the drop of oil prices in an extraction state the budget deficits are down to 30%, layoffs in the gas, oil, and coal have impacted the areas economy and representatives are scrambling for solutions to new revenue streams. The San Juan Basin has the highest carbon emissions in the lower 48 states, the federal and state government has left the public welfare to voluntary reporting by industry on emission. Unless we address this issue the emissions will not come down.

Together, we participate in the change of people’s relationship to nature and to place in cities through ecological art, storytelling, and collaborative actions across disciplines, allowing citizens to become active characters in the story of nature of their city. Working together as a global, community-engaged platform, we nurture humanity’s sacred cultural relationships with urban nature. Our actions are informed by contemporary and traditional cultures, spanning multiple disciplines and cultures, as we combine place-based storytelling with direct actions and events in local landscapes, Challenging the framework of established knowledge, we allow new ideas for sustaining cities to be generated across disciplines, species, and ways of knowing, furthering our collective understanding of the myriad cultural bonds that weave together our human families with each other and with nature in cities. Join us in helping individuals and communities realize new structures for collaborative movements for livable, resilient, healthy, poetic cities and regions that work in partnership with the rest of nature.

They say a movement starts the moment you unite a group of people and start enacting change, but for us it started a little before the “doing” phase. GenerationEco started like the slow filling of a sink; drop by drop, little by little. This past year many of us saw a huge change in our political system. A change that has led to the elimination of numerous things that have served as a kind of flimsy shield around our planet. But we also saw another change, in people’s attitudes. A spark; millennials starting to speak their mind more than ever. So many people of different ages, backgrounds, and beliefs joined together for so many different causes in order to protect themselves and let themselves be known. The generation became a shield. GenerationEco is a movement. This is our spark, where we speak our minds and revolt against the trashing of our planet and our rights. We are all coming together to nix that old flimsy shield and become a new one, together. GenerationEco is a community. This is people changing their lifestyles to be more sustainable. We are not these perfect eco-gods; we are changing with you. We are becoming Generation Eco right there with you. GenerationEco is a bash. We are fighting for better and protecting what we care about, but we are also celebrating! We are embracing our strides and using them as fuel for more wins. GenerationEco is us. The kids. The students. The workers. The artists. The party-throwers-and-goers. The activists. The muses. The outfit-repeaters. The unapologetic opinionators. The empathizers. The movement.

    • Global 4C
Global 4C is a policy project that aims to incentivise climate mitigation at the global scale for attempting to stay below 2°C of global warming this century.  The economic instrument of Global 4C is a proposed system of parallel world currencies that are called Complementary Currencies for Climate Change (4C). The Global 4C project is not presented as a niche policy, but rather it is justified with new and fundamentally important theory that describes the major relationships between money, markets, and networked systems.  The theory reveals that there is another political pathway that is naturally available for attempting deep decarbonisation in the 21st century. The theory recognises that government institutions have centralised power and are naturally suited to applying pollution caps and tax-based policies, but government institutions are often ineffectual because of political delay. The new pathway of Global 4C can dissolve political delay by complementing the role of governments with a highly-decentralised and intelligent system of global rewards and social contracts for mitigation. The Global 4C roadmap will involve a global reward scheme for mitigation and ‘scientific’ public banking using digital currency technologies, decentralisation, data sharing, and anti-corruption measures. Global 4C will synergise with orthodox policies and will be fully-financed with internationally coordinated central bank monetary policy that spreads the mitigation costs as an inflation tax.  The new pathway appears hopeful and feasible based on monetary theory, the history of money, and natural laws.

    • ICDiplomacy
ICDiplomacy stands for International Channels for Diplomacy. As an NGO that works with civil societies and official advisors, it provides live diplomatic communications between conflicting parties to deescalate conflict and restore peaceful relations. Civil societies around the world can now be involved and connected as viewers can submit comments or questions to panelists in real-time. Registered civil society organizations may serve as direct participants in the conversation as well. ICDiplomacy seeks to go beyond providing a central channel for multitrack diplomacy by establishing communications between the civil society of one country and the government of another country when both countries are heading towards conflict (i.e., American civil society communicating in a live broadcast with Iraqi officials in the presence of former diplomats or a third party country to establish peace and prevent the possibility of an invasion). This new approach is needed as official diplomacy between governments can be ineffective. The goal is to lead the relevant parties towards continued dialogue with the support of former diplomats and the international community. We invite you to this important global initiative.

The Institute for Green Science (IGS), led by Terry Collins, the Teresa Heinz Professor of GreenChemistry, is a research, education and entrepreneurial development center in which a holistic approach to green or sustainability science is being developed. The technical research programs are centered on the design, mechanisms of action and applications of TAML® Activators. At <1% the mass of mimics of the oxidizing enzymes they faithfully mimic, TAMLs are the highest performing homogeneous oxidation catalysts known across both chemistry and biology. The process of developing chemicals that are not endocrine disruptors has been invented by collaborative work between environmental health scientists and green chemists where TAMLs have served as the beta-testing system. TAMLs provide remarkably effective processes for removing endocrine disrupting micropollutants from water. The Institute is dedicated to the intellectual growth and technical education of a new generation of ethically aware professionals who understand how to develop and practicescience that works for the pursuit of sustainability — from the molecular level on up.

    • Manavodaya
Manavodaya in Sanskrit mean "Human Awakening". The institute was founded in the year 1985 with the purpose of promoting a new paradigm in development that builds on human values and enables the poorest sections of society to participate in the process of change. It works directly among oppressed groups at village level to facilitate process of change based on local participation, self management and control. It is now recognised as a centre of excellence in promoting people's participation through a process of self-help and empowerment. The institution is also known as the pioneer of the self help movement that has impacted millions of lives in India. The experience of work at grassroots has led to evolution and establishment of methods and practices in social transformation that can be adopted by oppressed/marginalised/excluded groups in most cultural contexts.
